1. The diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Denmark has been started in 22nd April, 1955.

2. Denmark Embassy in Myanmar is officially opened in Yangon on 1st August, 2014.

Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020)

3.    The Country Programme Support Agreement between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Government of Denmark for the implementation of the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme 2016-2020 was signed by the Deputy Minister for Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry (Former, Ministry of Planning and Finance) and the Ambassador of Denmark to Myanmar on 1st December, 2016.

4.  According to Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020), Denmark is supporting grant in totally DKK 505 million.

5.      The Embassy of Denmark in Myanmar is collaborating with the concerned ministries in order to the Denmark-Myanmar Country Programme (2016-2020) focusing on (9) thematic areas; Support for Joint peace Fund, Support for Rule of Law and Human Rights Engagement, Capacity Development Fund for Education, Support for Expanded decentralized School Grant and Stipend Programme, Support for Access to Quality Basic Education in Rural Ethnic and Conflict Areas, Support for Sustainable Costal Fisheries, Support for Sustainable Business Fund, Support for Enterprise Monitoring Systems, Mangrove Forest Management project.
