Union Minister for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission U ThaungTun received the president of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte Ltd Mr. Susumu Matsuda together with theAmbassador of Japan to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro Maruyama and team on 30th May, 2019 in Yangon.
During the meeting they discussed matters relating to the automobile business in Myanmar. The Union Minister welcomed Toyota’s plans to set up a production facility in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone with investment amounting to 52.6 million USD.He stressed the need for sharing technology and human resources development. Production is expected to commerce in 2021.
