Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Thaung Tun, received the business delegation headed by H.E.Mr. Timur MAKSIMOV, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw. The business delegation was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Nikolay Listopadov, Ambassador of the Russia Federation to Myanmar.
Union Minster informed that the existing mutual friendship, bilateral trade and investment cooperation, the improvement for people to people engagement, cooperation in education, power and industry, transport and telecommunication, technology and the development of regional cooperation. He also encouraged enhancing on bilateral investment in technical and vocational training, agriculture, industry, renewable energy, tourism and joint venture.
Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation discussed that the pre-consultation for the 3rd Session of the Inter-Governmental Russia-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, linking for bilateral business, the development for mutual relationship, the implementation of bilateral ongoing projects and the potential projects, the improvement for Russian’s investment in Myanmar, establishing direct flight connection between both countries.
After that, the preparatory meeting for the 3rd Inter-governmental Russian-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held by the leading of Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Bharat Singh and the Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, H.E.Mr. Timur MAKSIMOV. During the meeting, the responsible persons from government and business by both sides discussed about the review on the current bilateral trade and investment, the potential cooperation and the matter for the 3rd Session of Russian-Myanmar Commission.
The Russian business delegation will meet to discuss with the responsible persons from National Economic Coordination Committee, Ministry of Transport and Communication and also Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation with the aims to promote investment in Myanmar.
