A reception to commemorate the Seventy-Fourth Anniversary of the United Nations was held at MGallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening of 24 October 2019.
During the occasion, U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations read out the Message from the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on the 74th Anniversary of the United Nations Day.
Afterwards, Mr. Andrew Kirkwood, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator a.i. and Director and Representative of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), read out the message of the United Nations Secretary-General.
It was then followed by a video clip presentation on the establishment and progress of the United Nations and the cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations.
The Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chairman and members of Hluttaw Committees, Permanent Secretaries, Directors-General, Ambassadors/ Heads of the Diplomatic Missions in Yangon, Heads of the United Nations agencies and International Organizations in Yangon and officials concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the commemorative reception.
