U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER), chaired the coordination meeting with relevant ministries and departments to resolve investment issues in the manufacturing sector this afternoon at the office of the ministry.
In his opening speech, Union Minister highlighted that every country in the world, particularly in the Asia and pacific region are attracting FDI for their economic recovery which was seriously affected by COVID-19 pandemic. As global investment inflow was decreased 42% in last years, the trend for year 2021 would also be decreed as 5-10%, and against this backdrop every country in the region is trying their utmost effort to be an investment friendly environment, he added.
In addition, he urged the representatives from investment related ministries and region administrative council to fulfill the needs of investors according to the existing laws, rules and regulations and to address the operation issues raised by investors in timely manner.
After that, the officials attending the meeting discussed matters regarding the safe operation of the factories, financial issues, labor issues, and provided recommendation to resolve the issues as soon as possible. The Union Minister and the Deputy Minister of MIFER facilitated the meeting.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from Ministry of Home Affair, Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Union Attorney General Office, Central Bank of Myanmar, and council members from Bago, Ayeyarwady and Yangon Regions administration councils.
