Union Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) U Thaung Tun, accompanied by five Commission members visited Daewoo Bus Myanmar Factory in Mingala Don Township, Yangon in this morning.
The Daewoo Bus Myanmar Company is a joint venture between Myanmar and Korean partners. It is currently producing 2 models of buses under a pilot program with the approval of the MIC. The factory is staffed by 200 local workers and has a capacity to produce 500 units annually.
The Union Minister and party were welcomed at the factory by the Managing Director of Daewoo Bus Myanmar Co., Ltd. U Kyaw Kyaw Aung.
The factory is producing buses under the Complete Knocked-Down (CKD) system. The factory is expected not only to provide modern buses for the local market but also for export.
