The meeting (2/2021) of Working Committee to address the impact of COVID-19 on the country’s economy was held this afternoon.

The meeting was chaired by U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. Members of the working committee Deputy Ministers, from Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry and Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, and representatives of the Ministries concerned joined the meeting.

​In the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted that among 5 future programmes of State Administration Council, “efforts will be made to recover businesses that faced less caused by COVID-19 in various ways as quickly as possible” is also included. According to health security restrictions, the business will also encounter the hardships and it needs to write-up Committee’s functions in order to do relief measures for the business. In addition, the Committee will draw up necessary action plan, reorganize COVID-19 Task Force and establish Monitoring Team in every State and Region respectively.

The meeting discussed matters relating to measures to address the negative impacts of the COVID-19 and current situation on the country’s economy and other related matters reported to the Working Committee.

The meeting focus further measures and matters submitted to the Working Committee were also discussed.
