Myanmar- India Bilateral Cooperation

1. Myanmar- India diplomatic relations has been established since 4 January 1948 and the existing relationship between two countries is increased by the mutual State Visits.

2. Five Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and Five Agreements were signed during the state visit of President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to India from 26 to 29 February 2020. 

 3. The Government of India provided Ten TATA Vehicles to the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre (NRPC) on 15 December 2018.

 4. According to MoU on cooperation for the Small Development Projects, the Government of India will provide the grant assistance with limited the capital cost of US$ 2 million assistance for each project. The total amount of USD 21.199 million of 26 projects are proposed to India to implement with the relevant ministries.

 5. According to Agreement on cooperation for the Quick Impact Projects, the Government of India will provide the grant assistance with limited the capital cost of US$ 50,000 assistance for each project. The total amount of USD 143,850 of three projects are proposed to implement with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations will coordinate when the remaining ministries send the project proposals. 

  6. The MOU on USD 500 million Line of Credit (LOC) was signed between the Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank and Export and Import Bank of India on 28 May 2012 and the total amount of USD 228.14 million of the three projects are being implemented with Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and Ministry of Transport and Communications.
