The signing ceremony for Letter of Understanding (LoU) regarding the WFP Country Strategic Plan (2018-2022) between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and WFP was held on 13th December 2019 at Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Nay Pyi Taw.


Before the witness of H.E U Bharat Singh, Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, the Letter of Understanding (LoU) was undersigned by U Than Aung Kyaw, Director General of Foreign Economic Relations Department, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Mr. Stephen Anderson, Country Director and Resident Representative, WFP in Myanmar.

This signing ceremony was attended by officials from ministries concerned that are coordinating and implementing with WFP, and officials from WFP. WFP Country Strategic Plan (2018-2022) will be implemented with the estimated budget US$ 310.80 million in the areas; to have access to food for crisis-affected people and vulnerable people in States and Regions all year round and to improve nutrition for children under 5 in Myanmar. About 2.79 million people will be benefitted from the Country Strategic Plan (2018-2022).
