Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER), the aiming to develop the human resources and to improve the capacity of staffs, the 33rd ceremony of Friday Talk of Knowledge Sharing Program - KSP was held at the Office No (1), Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon of today. Dr. Kan Zaw, the Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations attended and delivered the opening remarks.
The Union Minister pointed out that the ministry has been holding the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) in every Friday and it is already nearly eight months. He emphasized on today’s topic Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has been introduced since 2013 initiated by People’ Republic of China and it has been long for 10 years. He underlined that BRI is formed with 150 countries, and is connected with China to European countries with the aim to enhance the regional integration, trade facilitation and liberalization, economic growth. Through the two passages especially over land and maritime, the five priors such as Policy Coordination, Physical Connectivity, Undisturbed Trade, Financial Integration and People to People Connectivity has been implemented. He also highlighted that international organizations like Shanghai Cooperation Organization - SCO and BRICS were formed for broader economic integration since 2000s. Therefore, to keep breast with the world, all MIFER’s staff need to realize not only the current situation of the world also the matters on trade facilitation and liberalization as well as the future connectivity of the world and Peoples Republic of China, and urged the participants to actively discuss through the discussion of today’s topic.
Daw Theingi Tun, Staff Officer from Union Minister’ Office presented the topic “Knowledge Sharing of Seminar on Economic and Trade Cooperation for the Belt and Road Countries” that was gained from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) program organized by the People Republic of China. Afterward, the attendees raised the questions, queries and discussion.
The Deputy Minister, Director General, Senior Officials and total 80 persons of the staff joined this program.
