Under the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) programme, Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the Development Partners Meeting (DPM) via video conferencing at 13:00 AM in Nay Pyi Taw on 20 October 2020.

 

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Wang Zhongjing, Director General, and Ministry of Finance and co-chaired by Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam, Director General, Southeast Asia Department, ADB.

 

In the Meeting, ADB presented the status on the GMS Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic Plan, GMS Strategy 2030 and Progress Report on the Regional Investment Framework (RIF) 2022 to the Development Partners. And the representatives from more than twenty Development Partners Agencies including the World Bank, European Union, World Food Program, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Mekong Institute, International Fund of Agriculture Development, International Organization for Migration informed the response programs on COVID-19 outbreak within GMS member countries.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from six GMS member countries (Cambodia, PR China, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam), the representatives from the more than twenty Development Partners Agencies and private sector, and ADB staff, in total over 70 participants. The Director General U Than Aung Kyaw, GMS National Coordinator, Foreign Economic Relations Department, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations participated this DPM via video conference.
