Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun received Mr. Yamaguchi Natsuo, the Upper House MP and the Chief Representative of Komeito party, at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.

During the meeting, the Union Minister and the Japanese Upper House MP discussed matters relating to further promoting the trade and investment relations between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction on the significant progress achieved in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a joint development undertaking between Myanmar and Japan. They also discussed matters relating to promotion of bilateral relations, future socio-economic development programs and assistance for peace, national reconciliation and democratic transition.

Mr. Yamaguchi Natsuo was accompanied by the Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Ichiro Maruyama.
