Preparatory Meeting on the 3rd Inter-Governmental Russia-Myanmar Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and Business to Business Virtual Matching was held via Video Conferencing at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations today afternoon. The meeting was led by U Than Aung Kyaw, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations from Myanmar side and Mr. Andrei Iunak, Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Affairs from the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar from the Russia side.
In the meeting, Deputy Minister discussed follow up activities of bilateral trade and investment promotion which were proposed by both sides during the visit of delegation led by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister of Provisional Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russia Federation in last week of June 2021. He also updated on the preparatory work for the 3rd Inter-Governmental Russia-Myanmar Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and Business to Business Virtual Matching scheduled to organize in December and September respectively in this year. Then he proposed the priority sectors to be discussed in upcoming Virtual Business to Business Matching and proposed the potential participants from public and private sector.
After that, Mr. Andrei Iunak, Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Affairs discussed on the arrangement of the 3rd Inter-Governmental Russia-Myanmar Joint Commission and Business to Business Virtual Matching, and the priority areas from Russia side in order to promote bilateral economic cooperation.
The meeting was joined by the Director General of Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and senior officials from Foreign Economic Relations Department as well as Professor Mr. Vadim Saltykoskiy, Deputy Chief of Committee for Economic Cooperation with Asia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
