5 May 2020 The First Meeting of Procurement Committee for Medicines and Medical Equipment on COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment was held by the Video Conferencing system at 2:00 PM in Nay Pyi Taw on 5 May 2020 with the purpose of purchasing medicines and medical equipment for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatments in timely and efficiently, the effective utilization of the international COVID-19 assistance. U Thaung Tun, Chairman of the Committee, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Dr. Mya Lay Sein, Secretary of the Committee, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports; and other committee member, U Soe Han, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended at Office No (1), Nay Pyi Taw ; and U Kyaw Myo, Deputy Minister for Transports and Communications, U Aung Htoo, Deputy Minister for Commerce respectively participated from their offices by video conference. At the meeting, the Committee members discussed on the matters of forming the necessary sub-committees, developing the Master Plan on purchasing the medicines and medical equipment based on the estimation of quarterly and yearly demand.
