U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations today delivered a keynote speech at the webinar on a New Way of Working with Government organized by the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar.
Union Minister appreciated the digital financial services. He also highlighted the rate of using online network, the new online workflows and digital lifestyles and using the video conferencing platform throughout the past year.
He welcomed the new infrastructure projects such as Korea-Myanmar Industrial Center and Myanmar-Singapore Industrial Park and Toyota’s opening a new plant at the Thilawa SEZ.
Moreover, the Union Minister used the opportunity to highlight the Myanmar Economic Resilience and Reform Plan – or MERRP that will response the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and promote continued inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
He also said that the public infrastructure projects would be conducted transparently and the new online Land Bank that provides clarity and transparency regarding land ownership would be introduced soon.
And Union Minister highlighted the online investment tools and online payment mechanism for the simpler and secure overall investment process.
He stressed the government effort for the e-government and digital services delivery, the investment opportunities in fintech and renewable energy.
Over 100 local and foreign investors including senior officials from MIFER, Mr. Peter Crowhurst, Chief Executive Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce, and Chief Executive Officer of Wave Money , Mr. Brad Jones attended the event.
