Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun today attended the Special ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Ministerial Meeting via video conference.
During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the preparations for 4th RCEP Summit which will be held in November 2020 back to back with the 37th ASEAN Summit.
The negotiation of the RCEP was launched in 2012 among 10 ASEAN Member States and Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea and New Zealand. The RCEP Summit was held annually since 2017 and the 4th RCEP Summit will be held in the second half of November 2020.
The meeting was attended by RCEP Ministers from 10 ASEAN Member States, the TNC Chair and TNC leads, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and official.
