Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Thaung Tun received the German Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Thomas Karl Neisinger on Tuesday morning at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw, this Morning.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed matters relating to Germany's financial and technical assistance to Myanmar totalling Euro 31.5 million.
The financial assistance programme includes Euro 18 million for the Rural Development Progamme and the TVET Reform Programme.
Additionally, Euro 13.5million worth of technical assistance has been earmarked for programmes that covers Capacity Development for private sector development, Promotion of Rural Electrification project and the Banking and Financial Sector Development project.
The German Ambassador also confirmed Germany's decision to provide Euro 11.2 million for continuation of on-going projects - - the Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) project in the Rakhine State, the Skills for Employment Project in the Northern Shan State (SENS) and the Skills Development for Vulnerable Youth (SDY) project in the Rakhine State.
