Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Thaung Tun and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Lee Sang-hwa held a virtual meeting via Video Conferencing this morning.

 


The Minister and the Ambassador also discussed matters relating to the initiation of the Korea Myanmar industrial Complex (KMIC) before the end of the year.

The Minister expressed appreciation to the Korean Government and people for their generous support.

The Union Minister and the Ambassador discussed matters relating to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries as well as Korean assistance to Myanmar in overcoming the challenges posed by COVID-19.

Korea government agencies KOFIH, KOICA, ASEAN- Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) as well as Korean companies-- POSCO International, Shinhan Bank, Kookmin Bank, Industrial Bank of Korea, SK Energy,  Hyundai Motors, Lotte Group-- Hotels, MGS and L & M Mayson, INNO City and Good Neighbors have been contributing test kids, PPE, face masks and other medical supplies to Myanmar in recent weeks.
