          The third meeting of the Working Committee to address the Impact of COVID-19 on the country’s economy was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.

          The meeting was chaired by U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. Members of the working committee and representatives of the Ministries concerned took part in the meeting.

          The Chairman of the Working Committee pointed out that following two meetings of the committee, the COVID-19 Fund has been established and that applications for loans have been screened systematically. It is expected that the first disbursements will be made before Thingyan. The remaining applications for loans will also be given due consideration, it is learnt.

          The meeting discussed matters relating to disbursement of funds to the affected firms expeditiously.
