The sixth meeting of the Working Committee to address the Impact of COVID-19 on the country’s economy was held via video conferencing this morning.  

The meeting was chaired by U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. Members of the working committee Union Ministers, U Soe Win, U Thein Swe, Dr. Than Myint, the Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, U Kyaw Kyaw Maung and representatives of the Ministries concerned took part in the meeting.

The meeting approved loans to enterprises that met the criteria set by the committee and agreed to top up the fund. The meeting also took a decision to extend the loan scheme to additional sectors.

It is learnt that to-date the committee has approved loans totaling K 86. 7419 billion to be disbursed to 3094 business enterprises.
