Nay Pyi Taw, September 6-7

Dr. Wah Wah Maung, Director General of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Myanmar SEOM Lead, attended the Preparatory Meetings of the Senior Economic Officials (SEOM) for the 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting and related Meetings which was held via Video Conference from 6 to 7 September, 2021. The meeting was attended by SEOM leads and delegations from ASEAN Member States, and staffs from ASEAN Secretariat.

The preparatory Meeting for the 13th CLMV Economic Ministers’ Meeting which will be chaired by Myanmar discussed and finalized the meeting agenda, CLMV SEOM Chair’s report to Ministers and Joint Media Statement. The Preparatory Meeting of the Senior Economic Officials (SEOM) for the 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting and related Meetings was chaired by Brunei. During the meeting, SEOM leads discussed on SEOM Chair’s reports to the 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting, 35th AFTA Council Meeting and 24th AIA Council Meeting. They also discussed on the preparations for ASEAN Economic Minister and its Dialogue Partners such as China, Korea, Switzerland, US, Hong Kong (China), India, EU, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Plus Three, East Asia and UK) Meetings, the preparations for 19th AEM-ASEAN Business Advisory Council Consultations as well as Launching of the OECD Competition Assessment and Competitive Neutrality Reports on the Logistic Sector in ASEAN.
